Law Enforcement
Instructor: Vince Logan
Students will study primarily the law enforcement section of the
criminal justice system. Speakers include DEA, FBI, Secret Service
and SWAT. Students will engage in real-life scenario-based
training, defensive tactics instruction, and law enforcement
firearm simulators. Students will visit jails, police academies,
military facilities, and police departments. First year students
may have the opportunity to shadow police officers. Second year
students will be leading class discussions and assuming a
supervisory role with the first year students and spend more time
shadowing local agencies and assisting with undercover
investigations. By the end of the year, students will be able to
investigate a crime, make an arrest, complete the report, and
testify in court. Prospective students may be required to complete
a background check and drug screen. (I515/I520)
