Students Learn Rapid Deployment, IVVC Style
The Law Enforcement students
of IVVC spent the day at Luigi's Pizza and Fun Center located on
Prairie Street in Aurora. After being briefed on how to
successfully deploy into a shooting situation, they went into the
1,500 square foot laser tag arena. The arena, one of the
biggest in the state, is a multi-level, obstacle ridden zone for
fun. The students practiced their individual shooting skills while
still maintaining a team playing attitude.
Inside the
arena, the students were divided into teams. Each team had to
protect their ‘base’ as well as “tag” other players and the
opposing ‘base’. The winners were decided by points at the end
of the game. The more “tags” that your team acquired, the more
points you scored. Each game lasted about 6 minutes.
After lunch, it
was time for the final round of the tournament. Finally, after four
hours of tournament play, the winner was finally decided. The
P.M. “B” team was victorious. Actually, everyone was a
winner!
