IVVC SkillsUSA - Champions at Work

| Indian Valley Vocational Center’s SkillsUSA students and volunteers were busy cooking pancakes and sausage at their first fundraiser on Sunday, November 11th at the Sandwich Fire Station. Special thanks to the Sandwich Fire Department for the use of their building and to the Sandwich Park District for their tables and chairs. Skills students are very grateful to all those who donated time, talent, and money to this breakfast. The profits will be used throughout the year to support students as they travel to competitions throughout the state. |

The first SkillsUSA competition will be on December 7, 2007 at
the Technology Center of DuPage in Addison. Students will be
competing in Basic Health Care, CAD, Commercial Baking and Culinary
Arts, Fire Fighter, First Aid and CPR, Prepared Speech, Preschool
Teaching Assistant, Law Enforcement Job Interview, Job Skill Demo,
and Suitcase. These contests will give IVVC students a chance
to compete against other students from high schools and career
centers within the northern region of Illinois and give them
practice for the state competition in April 2008. |
