Candleholder Project in Welding

by Drue M. from Earlville

In order to make the candleholder pictured, I used 1" flat stock and made eight scrolls. The circles were made out of 1/4" metal circles and the edges were made from 1/2" strips and rolling them into circles. It was welded all together. I made the candleholder because it looked like a challenging project, but it was also fun.

I am taking the Welding class because I work on demolition derby cars and there is a lot of welding that needs to be done on the cars. I have learned how to weld MIG, TIG, stick, and oxy fuel. I can weld vertical, horizontal and flat. I have worked on many projects -- anything from shovels to trailers to barbecue cookers. It is a fun class to be in!
