October Events in Culinary Arts

The Culinary Arts class celebrated Halloween by decorating sugar cookies and made Halloween-themed foods for our food cart. We also had a lesson on cake decorating and used some of our new skills for the cookie decorating. |  |
In October, one of our chapters was on the lodging industry. Some
of the things we studied were the types of lodging establishments
in America, career opportunities in the lodging industry, and
property management systems. Our class took a tour of the new hotel
being built in Sandwich. Mr. Webb showed us all the kitchen and
banquet areas, the lodging rooms and explained to us what his goals
are for his wonderful hotel. It will be a successful operation and
we look forward to another visit when it is completed, with the
possibly that some of the students will have the opportunity to be
employed there.
